Closet Shelves

Of all of the things that you need to choose for organizing your closets, closet shelves are probably one that gets overlooked the most. Many people just consider the shelves to be something that holds items. While this is true for the most part, there are still plenty of options for you to choose from when picking out your closet shelves. These would include price, functionality and design.

The price of the closet shelves that you choose will be a personal decision. Cheap closet shelves will still tend to store just as much as those that are higher end in design. The real difference is that you will not end up with something that is truly beautiful to look at. They will be functional and you will be able to store your items but they will not add to the decor of the room at all.

Higher end closet shelves tend to be much more expensive. They offer the same functionality as the cheaper shelves but they also lend to dressing up the overall closet design. The higher end shelves also are solid wood while most of the cheaper ones are metal and hung with visible brackets. If you are going to design a closet that will have top end units installed, make sure that you go with higher end shelving as you will not want to cheapen the overall look.

The design of the closet shelves is also something that has some variety. They will give you options that typically don't come with the lower end units, such as hidden pockets and dividers that are specifically made to keep various items separate. You can often also include them in various lengths to fit in with any custom closet design.

Just because something is simple in design does not mean that it is going to be easy. If you really care about the design of your closets, you will not overlook the closet shelves as an important part of the design process.
