Cleaning Out My Closet

Cleaning out my closet is something that I don't like to do very often. I try to keep it organized, as I'm sure most people do, but it is like an animal that continues to grow on its own. After awhile my closets tend to get so cluttered that I don't even recognize half of the things that are in there. Whenever this becomes the case, cleaning out my closet is put to the top of my list. How do I accomplish this task?

Cleaning out my closet is done in such a way that it is systematic. For example, whenever I go to clean one of my rooms I make sure that I do it in a systematic way. I start at the door and work my way around the room to the left, making sure that I do not leave any dirty areas behind me. By the time I reach the door again, the entire room is clean and I don't have to go back to pick up anything that was left for a later time. I clean out my closet in much the same way.

The first thing that I do when I go into the closet is to clean out the center area. This is typically the easiest part to clean as it is where you walk around and is basically clutter free. The only exception to this rule would be if you allow your closet to go too long between cleanings. I then start at the door, the same as I would in any other room and work my way around the closet to the left. I also make sure that I set time limits for myself so that I do not bite off more than I can chew at any one time. There's nothing worse than cleaning out your closet and ending up with a bedroom full of closet junk. My personal rule is that when I am cleaning out my closet, I never take anything out of it unless it is to put it away or throw it away.
